      Understanding Attachment & Strategies for the Classroom

      Objective: This course is designed to allow professionals to gain a better understanding of how to distinguish between autism and attachment needs as well as provide tools to support young pupils with attachment within the classroom environment. Outcome: It will allow staff to gain confidence in supporting children and young people with attachment difficulties. Staff can achieve a certificate from CITA for attendance to all three sessions. Session One - 25 September 2019Developing a wider understanding of the different forms of attachment.  Distinguish between four types of attachment Session Two - 23 October 2019Distinguish between autism and attachment needs: Recognise characteristics in common; Understand how to separate. Session Three - 4 December 2019Recognise implications for learning and how to apply strategies to remove barriers: Impact on classroom in regards to forming relationships as well as learning; Strategies and interventions to offer support These sessions can be booked individually or as a block booking for all three sessions with 15% discount (£153 plus fees).  To book all three sessions please email
